What's up at The Wine Market? Plenty

If you've been needing a reason to head down to the Wine Market, you got it. Every Monday through Thursday in March, The Wine Market in Locust Point is offering a list of delicious but lesser known wines by the glass at half price.

Lucien Walsh, the Wine Market's wine director, spent all February sniffing out  some unusual verities for you to try. So, go.

While we're talking about the Wine Market, we might as well remind you about happy hour, Monday through Thursday, 5 to 7 p.m., featuring $3 off a selection of cocktails, small plates and large plates. Also, chef Andrew Weinzirl puts out a three-course $35 menu every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

And Monday is still Neighborhood Night when locals and regulars get 20 percent off entrees and a choice of 18 bottles of wine for $18.

And a few special events at The Wine Market are coming up. On Tuesday, March 13, head bartender Andrew Bernstein will host a Local Spirits Cocktail Tasting, The $25 event will include bar snacks, light appetizers and tastings of three specially crafted cocktails using spirits from local distilleries. Reservations recommended.

On Tuesday, March 27, the restaurant will host its annual dinner in support of the Baltimore School for the Arts. All proceeds from the $39 three-course dinner will support the talented youth of the BSA. There are seatings at 6:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
