Leinenkugel's Beer Garden at Power Plant Live to open in September

Power Plant Live's new beer hall, Leinenkugel's, has an opening date.

The new bar and restaurant will have a soft opening on September 2 to coincide with the Grand Prix and an official grand opening on September 9.

The addition of Leinenkugel's to Power Plant Live was first reported on Midnight Sun this May. It is part of the complex's multi-million dollar renovation, which also includes the construction of a new outdoor stage and a second location of Joe Squared.

The beer hall has been under construction for about 6 months, said Cordish Cos. spokeswoman Megan Slattery.

It will be a big space, accomodating as many as 300 people including the exterior beer garden.

On the grand opening, there will be a Leinenkugel beer tasting from 4 to 9 p.m. hosted by Jake Leinenkugel.

The bar will carry 30 beers on tap and over 50 bottles, Slattery said. Prices range from $4-$8 for beers. There is no cover.

The bar and restaurant, open from 4 p.m. to 2 a..m. week days, and starting at 1 p.m. on weekend days, admits all ages throughout the day and only adults after 9 p.m.

A phone number for the venue isn't available yet; Slattery directed those with more questions to Leinenkugel's Facebook page.

We will have a full beer menu later today.
