Blue Jays banners take flight from Camden Yards

What was with those "Blue Jays Forever" banners on the Warehouse at Camden Yards?

A Johns Hopkins alumni association hosted some kind of fund-raising event staff meeting was taking place at a banquet facility at the Warehouse Thursday, so the entrance was festooned that morning with four gaily decorated vertical banners in Hopkins periwinkle blue, proclaiming “Blue Jays Forever.”

It was quite colorful, a spy tells me. And quite annoying to the front office, which shares the entrance.

By unfortunate coincidence, the Birds had lost their 16th straight game in Toronto the night before. Blue Jays forever, indeed.

It's not clear who protested, but the Blue Jay banners were gone by 9:30 that morning.

Maybe the indignity of the banners gave the O's a needed kick in the keister. Later that day, the Orioles finally won in Toronto.
