BWI to conduct emergency drill on Saturday

BWI-Marshall will conduct an emergency exercise at the airport on Saturday. Airport officials say the drill will allow for BWI and other agencies to practice responding to an actual emergency.

Normal airport operations will not be affected by what's being called a "full-scale" exercise featuring police, fire units and federal, state and local agencies. The drill takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

"Emergency vehicles and personnel will operate at BWI Marshall Airport as part of the exercise. This will be part of the drill," BWI said in a news release.

Honestly, if I'm on a jet landing at BWI and I see flashing lights and tons of emergency vehicles, it's likely to turn into an emergency - for me. I figure a few of you, considering the recent increase in security and travel warnings related to the death of Osama Bin Laden, might feel the same.

Which is why I'm happy to say: Relax, it's just a drill.
