The Walters won't be the only jewelry show in town this weekend.
With more than 150 booths, the International Gem and Jewelry Show at the Baltimore Convention Center will offer a wider range of pieces to choose from, including exotic gems, pearls, fine jewelry, beads and estate collections.
"Whether it's a gemstone necklace to match your new sweater dress, or a three-carat diamond ring to wow everyone at your next holiday party, there is something for everyone," said Monique Anderson, director of marketing for the event.
Although pieces at the International Gem and Jewelry Show can sell for as much as $500,000, organizers say that because of the sheer volume of vendors, customers will be able to choose from the best selection of jewelry at the lowest prices. The event features a sale for the public and a members-only component, where vendors and jewelry store owners can purchase items.
"It is an exciting shopping event for those who love jewelry," said Anderson.
The event in Baltimore is one of 93 similar shows held annually nationwide. The International Gem and Jewelry Show is celebrating its 44th year overall and its 25th year in Baltimore, according to Anderson.
Visitors can attend the International Gem and Jewelry Show from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for the entire weekend. For more information, visit InterGem.com. Children 8 and under are not permitted.
