Monkton resident is contestant on 'America's Next Top Model'

Jane Randall, a 19-year-old graduate of Roland Park Country School, will be one of 14 contestants on the upcoming season of " America's Next Top Model," which premieres Sept. 8.

The five-foot-nine Randall lists Ralph Lauren as her favorite designer, sandals as her favorite shoe and coffee as her must-have photo shoot accessory.

Each episode, contestants complete a challenge that usually results in some type of prize, and a photo shoot. The picture from that photo shoot is then evaluated by a group of judges headed by Banks, which leads to an elimination.

The winner this season wins a contract with IMG Models, a fashion spread in Vogue Italia and an additional spread and cover of Beauty in Vogue, and a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl Cosmetics.

Guest judges this season include designer Diane Von Furstenberg, supermodel Karolina Kurkova, designer Zac Posen and designer Roberto Cavalli.

One of The CW's top-rated shows, "America's Next Top Model" has opened the doors to all types of models. The show, which is hosted by super model and television personality Tyra Banks, has featured past winners of different ethnicities, and a plus-size model won the competition one season.

Since the series first aired in 2003 on the now defunct UPN, there have been versions launched in more than 30 countries making it a worldwide phenomenon.
