Cinematic Adaptations At Creative Alliance Certain pop movies can lodge in your brain like an energizing jingle, and for many of us, one of them is "Stripes," a good-natured, deliriously funny military comedy. This Bill Murray vehicle about post-counterculture slackers joining the Army and getting into fighting trim has been dismissed by the likes of Leonard Maltin as "predictable" and "eminently forgettable." But the movie enlisted millions of Murray fans (including me), who still laugh uncontrollably when they hear the phrase, "That's the fact, Jack!" A bill called "Cinematic Adaptation" at the Creative Alliance tonight presents Ann Everton's adaptation of "Stripes," which we're told is part of her series, "Bill Murray Life Lessons." This could either be insufferably arty or inspired — but any filmmaker who uses Murray at his best as a model deserves the benefit of the doubt.

"Cinematic Adaptation" unspools at 7 p.m. today at Creative Alliance at the Patterson, 3134 Eastern Avenue. Admission is $8, $6,

Fellini At The Charles Not even Woody Allen and New York or Barry Levinson and Baltimore have presented such a unified image of director and city as Federico Fellini and Rome. For jet-setters in the 1960s and 1970s and movie-lovers of all times, it is "Fellini's Roma" — the title of his wild film essay, made 12 years after he both glamorized and debunked the city in "La Dolce Vita."

"Fellini's Roma" plays the Charles (1711 N. Charles St.), at noon Saturday, 7 p.m. Monday and 9 p.m. Thursday.

Open-Air Movies at Kenilworth and Cross Keys "The Blind Side," that honest to-God crowd-pleaser about the high school years of Michael Oher, will play to a hometown crowd at 8:45 p.m. today at the Shops at Kenilworth (800 Kenilworth Drive), outside in the lover-level parking area. And for those who'd love a late-spring day in New York without traveling there, Gotham has never looked more enticing than in Woody Allen's "Annie Hall," at 6 p.m. Saturday in the courtyard of the Village at Cross Keys. Both screenings are free and BYOLC (Bring Your Own Lawn Chairs).
