Valentine's Day deals for sweet getaways

WASHINGTON

Guests can "Remember Romance" at The Gaylord National with a package that includes room, breakfast for two, parking, resort fee and 20 percent discount on select spa services. Rates start at $269. Also, if you celebrate your anniversary in February, the hotel offers the "Unforgettable Anniversary Weekend" package with the second night free.

The Willard InterContinental offers the "Heart to Heart" package starting at $379. The package includes one night's accommodation for two, American breakfast in bed, valet parking and champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries. Package must be booked at least seven day in advance. You can upgrade with cordials, candles, rose petals and a couples massage, starting at $809. And of course, for the extravagant romantics, the "Capital Night of Romance" package includes that and more for $2,400.

Guests can play out their fantasies with a "Naughty and Nice" package at the Affinia Liaison Capitol Hill. The one-night package allows guests to "get naughty" with a bottle of bubbly, an Agent Provocateur Strip Poker set, guaranteed late check-out and "get nice" with rose petal turn-down service, a box of Jacques Torres hand-made chocolates, a romantic in-room movie and a "52 Ways to Stay in Love Forever" deck of cards to inspire romance. The Holiday Inn Dulles offers the "Valentine Sweethearts" package with overnight accommodations on Feb. 13, including a king room, champagne brunch for two, bottle of champage and chocolate-covered strawberries, red roses and late check-out. Rates start at $159 per night, per couple.

The "Room for Romance" package at The Jefferson includes an overnight stay, half-bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and breakfast for two, starting at $440 per night. For an 'Inspired Romance," double the cost and add in a one-hour couple's massage, "romantic" cocktail and a seven-course tasting menu dinner at the Plume restaurant for two starting at $1,080 per night.

ATLANTIC CITY

Renew your wedding vows with the "Atlantic City Group Valentine Wedding, Vow Renewal and Civil Union Ceremony." The free event takes place at Historic Boardwalk Hall on Valentine's Day at 4 p.m. After the non-denominational ceremony, couples and guests can celebrate with a champagne toast, wedding cake and photo opportunities. NEW YORK

The boutique, Moroccan-themed Marrakech Hotel on Manahattan's Upper West Side offers a savings of 20 percent with rates starting at $99 per night. With ceramic mosaic tiling, authentic Moroccan lamps, and colorful ottomans throughout, lovers will feel like they are on an exotic getaway in the heart of the city. BOSTON The Fairmont Copley Plaza, puts couples in the mood for romance with its "Be My Valentine Package" package, including an overnight stay, dinner for two in the Oak Room, rose-petal turndown service and breakfast in bed. Available Feb. 12-14, with rates starting at $349. This package is offered based upon availability and includes food tax and gratuity; room tax is excluded. Reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance.

THE CARIBBEAN If you want to give your Valentine a run for his money, the Sheraton Nassau Beach offers the "Marathon Bahamas" special rate starting at $199 per night. The marathon takes place Feb. 14. After the race, relax in the resort's whirlpools or on the beach. There's a Valentine's Day performance in the resort's ballroom featuring Cedric the Entertainer. Tickets start at $75 per person and are not included in the special rate.

"Luxury Included" is a package from Sandals Resorts in Jamaica, Antigua, St. Lucia and the Bahamas. Stay between Feb. 1 and March 15 and get a bottle of sparkling wine, turn-down service with love notes and chocolate, chocolate covered tropical fruits and a complimentary photo session and keepsake photo. PARIS Throughout February, Concorde Hotels & Resorts invites couples to experience the city of love at one of the group's five historic Parisian hotels. The Valentine's Day package is available from Feb. 5-28, with rates starting at $276 per night, and includes double room, daily breakfast buffet for two, and a special surprise (for example, champagne, chocolates, spa treatments). This romantic package is also available at other Concorde Hotels & Resorts located in Germany, Switzerland, Prague and France.

The Hilton Arc de Triomphe and Hilton Paris La Defense offer the "Sex In The City of Lights" romance package. Available Feb. 12 to 15, the package takes care of every detail – including rose petals in the bathtub and scattered over the bed, as well as an essential oil-scented candle. Nightly rates at Hilton Paris La Defense start at about $280 and include a bottle of Champagne in room upon arrival. At Hilton Arc de Triomphe Paris, nightly rates start at about $618 and also include champagne brunch for two, spa treatment and a room upgrade (based on availability).

LONDON The luxury Royal Horseguards Hotel offers a Valentine's Day package that includes roses, champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries, bath amenities, a ride on the London Eye, a private sitting with a professional photographer and dinner for two. The package starts at $349 per night and is subject to availability.
