Netflix reveals fate of Kevin Spacey's character in latest 'House of Cards' teaser

The fate of Frank Underwood, the former president on “House of Cards” played by disgraced actor Keivn Spacey, became clear in a new teaser released ahead of the show’s final season: Netflix killed him.

In the trailer, Claire Underwood, Frank’s wife played by Robin Wright, stands by her late husband’s grave.

“I’ll tell you this though, Francis,” she says, “when they bury me, it won’t be in my backyard. And when they pay their respects they’ll have to wait in line.”

The camera pans to a shot of Underwood’s headstone in a family plot, showing his death date of 2017.

Netflix and production company Media Rights Capital dropped Spacey from the series, which was filmed in Maryland, last fall in the wake of sexual assault allegations. Although the show laid the groundwork for Claire Underwood to take over the presidency, it was unclear how Netflix would handle Spacey’s removal.

The eight-episode season is set to premiere Nov. 2.
