The former host of “The Kane Show,” Peter Deibler, died Friday after battling a long illness.
Deibler, who was known to radio listeners as “Kane,” died at Shady Grove Adventist Medical Center in Rockville, according to a Monday news release from Joseph, Greenwald & Laake. He is survived by his two daughters, Sam and Sophie.
“The Kane Show” hit radio waves in the Washington area in 2006 and played on several stations throughout the country including in Louisville, Kentucky, and Tampa, Florida, and locally in Baltimore on Z104.3 and Hot 99.5.
“Although co-hosts came and went, Kane remained a constant, comforting voice for thousands of people driving to work, dropping the kids off at school and running errands,” the release said.
Last April, the show was erased from radio websites and replaced with “Your Morning Show,” according to WJLA. And iHeart radio executive told the TV station that Deibler would no longer be part of the weekday morning broadcast but would remain part of the “iHeart family.”
