Gifts for Baltimore bookworms

There’s a reason the holiday season is traditionally a time for giving books.

Once January arrives and you’ve blown out the menorah and Kwanzaa candles and vacuumed up the pine needles and tinsel, the short, cold days and long, snowy nights were seemingly made for curling up on the couch beneath a comforter with a cup of cocoa and a good book. But which book? To help answer that question, we’ve compiled a short and incomplete list of novels and non-fiction titles published earlier this year that were written by local authors or that tackle topics of local interest.

Unfortunately, space and time constraints prohibit the inclusion of every worthy book by a local scribe released in 2018. The volumes below are merely a starting point for fashioning your own Marylandcentric catalog.

While the gift-giving season traditionally lasts for up to twelve days, we figured you’ll need at least two of those off to track down a sale on five gold rings and to hire eight maids a milking willing to work the holiday.

In the photo gallery above are our ten books for Baltimore book lovers.
