Baltimore Pride

Baltimore's LGBTQ community pulls out all the stops in this annual celebration of gender equality and loving yourself, whoever you are and however you are inclined. The eight-day pridefest kicks off Tuesday, with an 8 p.m. Gay Skate at Shake & Bake Family Fun Center, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., then continues on Wednesday and Thursday. But the real partying runs Friday-next Sunday, with signature events including the annual Twilight on the Terrace ("one of the more sedate events during the Pride celebration," organizers promise), 7 p.m. Friday at Gertrude's at the Baltimore Museum of Art, 10 Art Museum Drive ($125); Saturday's Baltimore Pride Parade (2 p.m., along Charles Street, from Madison to Chase) and Pride Block Party (4 p.m.-10 p.m., in the area bounded by Cathedral, Read, Eager and Charles streets) and next Sunday's Pride Festival (10 a.m.-6 p.m. in Druid Hill Park). Full schedule: baltimorepride.org.
