Theater: 'Fences'

Everyman Theatre turns to the great American playwright August Wilson (pictured) and one of his most honored works, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning “Fences.” The incisive drama centers around a former Negro Leagues baseball player, now a garbage collector in 1950s Pittsburgh, and complex issues of fatherhood, fidelity and racism. Oct. 21 to Nov. 22 at Everyman Theatre, 315 W. Fayette St. $40 to $60. 410-752-2208, everymantheatre.org. — TS
