Since forming three years ago, band members have gelled into a cohesive songwriting and performing unit, Beach said. Narcotic, their first full-length album, came out in May and features introspective songs about relationships and struggles. On the tracks, the band is asking questions and exploring issues, he said.

"As you write lyrics, you start with an idea," Beach said. "As you get deeper into it, it transforms from an idea into something pretty intense. ... I think some of the songs sonically parallel that songwriting process."
