Meet the Band: The Deep End

The band came to Baltimore about a year ago from New York City, where their equipment was stolen twice and their house burned down. Owning its own home recording studio has helped the group become extremely prolific - the band has eight full-length albums and is working on a ninth.

"We've taken the money we would have needed to go into a studio and built up the equipment ourselves," Gylan said. "Each album gets a little bit better sounding. ... It's nice to have that freedom to do it ourselves and not have to go into a studio and be restricted by studio time."
