Good-bye, Blaze

Blaze Starr, long-time doyenne of Baltimore's infamous Block, a stripper so devilishly wholesome she once shilled for BG&E, the pride of Twelve Pole Creek, W.Va., and the woman whose affair with a Louisiana governor became the stuff of American legend, died June 15 at age 82. Starr's 38DDs (immortalized in a song she wrote) were the stuff of Baltimore's adolescent (and frequently post-adolescent) male fantasies for decades. She, and the good-spirited naughtiness she so long personified, will be greatly missed.
