Capital Gazette wins special Pulitzer Prize citation for coverage of newsroom shooting that killed five

Aug. 23: The Depiction of Jews in Hollywood Film from Al Jolson to Woody Allen at Jewish Museum of Maryland

That’s a half-century of cinema, from 1927 (the year “The Jazz Singer” revolutionized cinema by introducing spoken, synchronized dialogue to the movies) to 1977 (when Allen’s “Annie Hall” earned its best picture Oscar).
