What surprised me most about Baltimore: All the different neighborhoods and their unique characteristics. You can hang out in Hampden for Honfest and grab a cheap yet awesome dinner, or you can head down to Federal Hill to go out and grab a drink, or even Harbor East to take a date for a nice dinner. All the different neighborhoods offer something special and I'm still exploring them as a senior. Best school event: It has gotta be Loyolapalooza. They had Matt and Kim last year. Best non-school event: Artscape. There's nothing better than some free entertainment. Best public transportation: The Loyola shuttle will take you where you need to go. Best free wi-fi on campus: Starbucks. Where else? Best free wi-fi off campus: Evergreen Cafe (above). Best hidden gem near school: Pete's Grill. Best way to meet people: Hang out on the quad with a puppy. Favorite on-campus place to study: Knott Hall Favorite off-campus place to study: Evergreen Cafe, again. It's a great place to hang out and get work done. Favorite things to do on the weekend: There are great places to get away and go rafting, but if you wanna stick around the city, it's always fun to go to an O's game. Must-take class: Effective Writing with Ron Tanner. Best hangout spot on campus: Humanities porch. Best hangout spot off campus: Holy Frijoles. By Eric Michaelis, senior, business major
