Isis King

Isis King, from Prince George's County, was the first transgender contestant to appear on "America's Next Top Model," during Cycle 11. She was eliminated in the fourth week of the show. *** Since her first appearance on cycle 11 of "America's Next Top Model," Isis King completed her transition to becoming female and has become a public media advocate for transgendered models. In 2012, King became American Apparel's first model who was openly transgendered, though some controversy surrounded the semantics of a gay-themed graphic tee she was promoting. King also has appeared on "Larry King Live," "The Tyra Show," and was chosen to compete in cycle 17 of "America's Next Top Model: All- Stars." Read more coverage of "America's Next Top Model."
