Penn's Cave in Centre Hall, Pa.

Web: The lowdown: Most cave tours require you to walk through them; at Penn's Cave, you get to ride in a boat. See: Besides the typical stalactites and stalagmites associated with caves, this destination also has a wildlife park with bears, wolves and bobcats. Do: Take both the 90-minute wildlife tour and the one-hour cavern tour for a combined ticket price of $30.95. Eat: Located in the historic Hotel State College and Company building in nearby Sate College, Pa., the Allen Street Grill is pretty from the outside and offers an extensive menu inside. Drink: Zola Bistro, also in State College, has a lengthy wine and beer list. Cheap: The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, which will be held July 13-17 downtown State College and on Penn State's University Park campus, features an arts and crafts sidewalk sale and music, dance and theater performances.
