There's not much time left to crown the best of Baltimore film and TV. Will it come from the Boogie, Divine, Clarice Starling or Avon Barksdale region? We're in the Elite Eight, and though we've seen some favorites fall by the wayside, plenty of Charm City's gems are still left. Be sure to come back and vote in the Final Four to help us get one step closer to announcing a winner. In case you missed the original 64, here's the first round, with descriptions of the "teams."

The Avon Barksdale Region

Best of Maryland TV: Shows that take place in Maryland

(1) The Wire vs. (2) Homicide

Apparently the Underwoods don't exactly inspire sympathy, or votes. "The Wire" vs. "House of Cards" wasn't even close; Baltimoreans clearly prefer watching some hometown grit to the slimy dealings of the Washington political elite. And although much of "House of Cards" was filmed in Baltimore, if out-of-towners know nothing else about the city, they know "The Wire." In what has become the David Simon region, we'll see if the likes of Avon and Omar, or city police, come out on top when the show faces "Homicide" (which beat "The Corner.")
