On March 11, producers of “School of Rock,” the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical based on the movie about a down-on-his-luck rocker who creates a band of fifth-graders, will hold an open casting call in Baltimore to find future replacements for kids roles in the touring cast.
The particulars: Males of any ethnicity, aged 8 to 12, who can play guitar, keyboards or drums; and females of any ethnicity, aged 8 to 12, who can play bass or drums. All those auditioning must also be able to sing. Auditions will be held at Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre.
Be prepared to perform a rock song of two to three minutes. Bring your own instrument if you’re auditioning for guitar or bass; drum kit, keyboard and amps will be provided. The process will involve solo and group auditions.
The 2018-2019 season at Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre will offer "Hamilton" and several other currently running Broadway shows, including "Anastasia," "Come From Away" and "The Play That Goes Wrong"; return engagements for "Les Miserables" and "The Book of Mormon" are also on the lineup.
