New arts group EMP Collective opens downtown venue

A quirky group of recent college graduates formed the EMP Collective in a storefront on Redwood St., aided by a $10,000 grant for rehabbing vacant properties. Their loosely-flung group does everything from painting to filmmaking to stage productions, and more. Art director Carly J. Bales (center) poses with (from left to right) Katy Dubina, Ken Jordan, Nolan Cartwright, and Brad Leroy Cartwright. (Patrick Smith, Baltimore Sun)
