The Baltimore Museum of Industry announced Wednesday that Anita Kassof will become the organization's new executive director on Feb. 1.
Kassof, who has lived in Baltimore for 21 years and who previously worked as associate director of the Jewish Museum of Maryland, succeeds Roland Woodward, who retired last June.
Most recently, Kassof has split her time between Baltimore and New York, where she was deputy director of the Museum of Jewish Heritage. She also was on the founding staff of the acclaimed United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington.
Kassof said in a news release that she's looking forward to helping the museum, which was founded in 1981, engage new audiences.
"We can play an important role in the city's future by embracing the industries of today and tomorrow that are helping to fuel Baltimore's renaissance," she said.
