Till Fellner to replace Nelson Freire in Shriver Hall season finale

Till Fellner
Austrian pianist Till Fellner will step in for Brazilian pianist Nelson Freire when Shriver Hall Concert Series presents the final event of its 50th anniversary season on Sunday.
The 71-year-old Freire has cancelled his North American tour, which was to have included Baltimore. No reason has been provided by his management.
Fellner, 44, agreed to extend his North American tour, which included performances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra last week and was to have wrapped up with a recital Saturday for the Gilmore Festival in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The pianist's Shriver Hall program at 5:30 p.m. Sunday will offer Beethoven's Sonata No. 13, Luciano Berio's "Cinque variazioni" and two works by Schumann: "Papillons" and the C major Fantasie.
