It was ambitious enough of Everyman Theatre to tackle two classics of the American stage, "Death of a Salesman" and "A Streetcar Named Desire," rotating in repertory. But the company upped the pressure for its "Great American Rep" project by scheduling a whole bunch of same-day performances of both pieces.

Curiosity about the quick turnaround for the stage crew handling those double-headers has led to a novel offer from Everyman. Folks are invited to observed the process on weekends, starting May 28 and running through June 12.

In the space of about 40 minutes, the 10-person crew switches the set from the Brooklyn world where a hapless salesman confronts his fate to a New Orleans street where an emotionally complex woman confronts hers.

The action starts immediately after matinee performances Saturdays and Sundays, at about 4:45 p.m. Admission is free, by with advance reservations. You don't have to be a ticket-holder to one of that day's performances to participate.
