The Baltimore Museum of Art is seeking public comment on its future plans.

In the wake of the retirement of Director Doreen Bolger after 17 years of running the museum, the BMA is seeking public input on two questions:

"What do you want to see from the BMA in the coming years?" and "What would you like to see the BMA become in the next decade?"

Public comment may be left on the museum's blog.

For the time being, museum officials are specifically not looking for public comment on "specific director candidates or qualifications for the new director."

On Thursday, BMA officials announced the appointment of a committee "to conduct an international search for the next director to lead the museum."

Trustee Michael Rosenbaum was named chair of the committee.

Other committee members are Clair Zamoiski Segal, whose selection as board chair was also announced Thursday; former board chairs Suzanne F. Cohen, Stiles Tuttle Colwill and Margot W.M. Heller; and trustees William Backstrom, Alexander C. Baer, Patricia H. Joseph and James D. Thornton.

Also on Thursday, museum officials announced that Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs Jay Fisher and Deputy Director for Finance and Administration Christine Dietze have been named interim co-directors until a new director is appointed.
