Baltimore is nicely represented among the 57th Annual Grammy Awards nominees.
In the Best Song category, there's "All About That Bass" by Kevin Kadish and Meghan Trainor. Kadish, an Owings Mills native now living in Nashville, did some of his early music gigs at Baltimore's Ottobar and the Horse You Came In On.
Among the Best Classical Instrumental Solo nominees is "All the Things You Are," a collection of works for left-hand performed by pianist Leon Fleisher, who has lived in Baltimore and taught at the Peabody Conservatory for more than 50 years.
The nominees for Producer of the Year, Classical, include Bridge Records founder David Starobin, who produced that Fleisher CD. The New York-based Starobin is a graduate of Peabody Conservatory, where he studied guitar; he received that school's Distinguished Alumni Award in 1999.
