Update: This article has been updated to include information from the executive director of Artomatic@Baltimore Eduardo Rodriguez.Free indoor art festival Artomatic@Baltimore, which was slated to host hundreds of exhibitions for six weeks at the Montgomery Ward Warehouse in South Baltimore starting in November, will be delayed until next year, according to the festival's website. The website stated that the all-volunteer staff organizing the event "encountered a few bumps in the road that made it impossible to stage this event in the short time available for this year.""It's been postponed to make Artomatic bigger and better. We did have over 300 visual and performing artists that signed up. With more time, we can make it better," said the festival's executive director Eduardo Rodriguez, who wanted to do the festival "the right way, instead of rushing."Rodriguez said he will still be working daily on organizing next year's festival, which will include works from artists around the region in media including music, poetry, comedy, fashion, design and dance. It's an initiative he's been working on bringing to Baltimore for the past 10 years, an idea that sparked from him attending the first Artomatic in Washington in 1999, he said. While the date for the festival is still undecided, the location is still set to be Montgomery Park, he said.Information and refunds are being sent to artists who registered for the event, according to the website. For more information, visit the Artomatic@Baltimore website.
