On any given Saturday, the Woodberry light rail stop is a portal to a relaxing day in a picturesque semi-industrial area. Fuel up on espresso and pastries at Artifact Coffee (pictured), one of the jewels in Spike Gjerde's Foodshed empire. Then cross the street to Meadow Mill for a novice class at Nepenthe Homebrew. Your beer won't be ready to drink, but across the way is Union Craft Brewing, whose parking lot turns into a picnic area on Saturdays. "We tried really hard to create an environment where you can bring your whole family," says brewery co-owner Jon Zerivitz. For dinner, walk over to La Cuchara, a hot new Basque restaurant in the Meadow Mill complex that everyone's talking about.
