Temperatures flirted with zero early Thursday, with wind chills forecast to dip into the negatives. Counties in southern Maryland and on the southern end of the Eastern Shore were still dealing with snow from Monday into Tuesday.
Students had the day off Thursday in Allegany, Dorchester, Garrett and Wicomico counties.
Schools in seven other counties were operating on a delayed opening.
Hampden Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore was closed for students due to a water main break outside the school.
