Hampden Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore was closed Wednesday because of a broken water main in the area, city school officials said.
Staff are asked to report to 2500 East Northern Parkway. Inner Harbor East Academy is also closed for students. All other city schools will open two hours late with no before-school or half-day early learning programs.
In Harford County, Joppatowne Elementary closed due to mechanical issues, and YWCA before or aftercare or activities at the school are canceled. Staff are asked to report at their regular time.
Additionally, Baltimore County Public Schools officials said Villa Cresta Elementary School in Parkville will be closed Thursday and Friday as repairs are made to the school's heating and electrical systems damaged as the result of this week's frigid temperatures. At Villa Cresta, a sprinkler system frozen causing flooding in a boiler room and shutting off heat.
