The Baltimore County school board will meet in an emergency session on Monday afternoon to vote on a new location for students from the Rosedale Center, an alternative school for children who have been suspended or expelled from school.
The school system has negotiated a lease with Merritt Properties for 30,800 square feet of space in the Golden Ring Industrial Park where the school will be located if approved by the board.
The school is moving to the temporary location as a result of a renovation of Victory Villa Elementary School. Victory Villa's 458 students will move to Rosedale for two years while the renovation is completed.
Rosedale is a school for students who have been temporarily expelled or suspended from school.
In documents posted this afternoon before the meeting, the school system said that negotiations with another bidder had fallen through and the county had withdrawn the contract.
The lease includes the construction of classrooms and other offices by Merritt Properties.
