The Maryland School for the Blind has appointed a new superintendent and education director, according to an announcement released Monday.
W. Robert Hair was selected for the positions at the school in Northeast Baltimore. He worked previously at schools for the blind in Massachusetts and South Carolina.
In his new roles, Hair will oversee on-campus and outreach services, according to the announcement.
"We are all very excited to welcome Mr. Hair to our campus," said Michael Bina, the school's president. "I am confident he will be instrumental in further improving our programs and services."
The Maryland School for the Blind is a private, statewide resource center that provides services for children and youth from infancy to age 21. It serves almost 1,000 blind or visually impaired young people in the state every year.
