A student was taken into custody Tuesday morning after a gun was found at a West Baltimore school.
A teacher saw a student about 9 a.m. showing “what looked like a gun to a group of students” at North Bend Elementary/Middle School, said Baltimore City Public Schools spokesperson Sherry Christian.
The administration was notified and found a gun after a search of the student, she said. The firearm was confiscated, and the student was taken into custody without incident, Christian said. No other students were involved.
Christian didn’t have details on the student’s grade or whether the gun was loaded.
Last week, Baltimore County Police officers arrested a 14-year-old Parkville High School student who was in possession of a loaded handgun at school.
