Howard High teacher to compete on 'Jeopardy!'

Howard High School chemistry and forensics teacher Cathy Bloedorn will compete as a contestant on the television quiz show, "Jeopardy!," this week, officials from the show said.

Bloedorn is slated to appear as part of the quiz show's Teachers Tournament being aired Nov. 11-22. The tournament matches 15 teachers nationwide who will compete for a $100,000 grand prize, officials said. The winner of the Teachers Tournament goes on to compete in the show's Tournament of Champions.

Bloedorn and others were selected from teachers who passed a 50-question online test. They then auditioned for the show, engaging in a mock game play, a 50-question test and in-person auditions, game show officials said.

Officials said that last year's Teachers Tournament winner went on to win the Tournament of Champions.
