Three school systems on Maryland's lower Eastern Shore dealt with snowy roads early Wednesday.
The Ocean City area — in the crosshairs of a snow system forecast to pass through the region early Thursday — was hit with some overnight snow, closing two area school systems.
Somerset County Public Schools closed Wednesday "due to snow covered roads."
Worcester County Public Schools also cited road conditions in announcing students and 10-month staff would have the day off on Wednesday.
Also on the Eastern Shore, Wicomico County Public Schools began Wednesday on a two-hour delay.
All Baltimore-area school systems opened on time.
