Hampton police investigating fatal motorcycle crash

A man died in a motorcycle crash early Sunday in Hampton, according to police.

The crash happened about 3:39 a.m. in the 1400 block of Todds Lane. Police said they found a 2007 Honda motorcycle at the scene.

The driver died at the scene, and police identified him as Stephen Ray Tyson, 24, of Hampton, according to a news release.

Tyson was driving the motorcycle east on Todds Lane, lost control, ran off the road and hit a pole.

Police said they closed the road in the area of the crash from Aspenwood Drive to Macon Road as they investigated.
