Fantasy Fix: 3 players you want NOW

For RedEye

Every year there are players I am smitten with before the season starts. This year is no exception. I really believe this agile quarterback, a rookie running back with a spin move like Denis Savard's and a wide receiver who can catch almost anything thrown his way are primed to for a huge fantasy season.

Cam Newton, Carolina QB

It was a tale of two halves for Newton in 2012. In the first first eight games, he had six passing touchdowns, four rushing scores and eight interceptions. The second half was spectacular though: 13 touchdowns in the air, four more on the ground and only four interceptions. I believe the numbers from a fantasy perspective will continue to rise. Do not be surprised if you see 30 passing touchdowns, another 10 on the ground and fewer interceptions from this former Heisman winner.

Eddie Lacy, Green Bay RB

I was shocked Lacy lasted until the second round of this year's NFL draft. The rich got richer with the Packers getting this stud from Alabama. Lacy is an outstanding change-of-pace back and with DuJuan Harris out for the year, Lacy is no longer a sleeper in fantasy land; he is a third- or fourth-round pick and may be a value in that position. Lacy, should be good for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns as a rookie.

Dez Bryant, Dallas WR

If 2012 was Dez's time to shine in Dallas then 2013 should keep this star shining even brighter. It's pretty plain and simple to me, Dez Bryant is the second best fantasy wide receiver behind Calvin Johnson. Dez has Tony Romo's trust and is a prime time player. The 2012 stats were great, twelve touchdowns and just a shade under 1,400 receiving yards. I believe fourteen scores and over 1,500 yards should be reality for Dez this year.
