Ex-Chicago salesman Nick Viall downplays 'Bachelor in Paradise' feud

A day after they were shown competing for the same woman again, "Bachelor in Paradise" contestants Nick Viall and Josh Murray shared starkly different views on their relationship.

The two vied for Andi Dorfman's heart on Season 10 of "The Bachelorette" in 2014. Dorfman picked Murray over Viall, a former Chicago software salesman. On Monday's episode of "Bachelor in Paradise," Murray and Viall battled for California esthetician Amanda Stanton. Murray appeared to win, again.

"I guess Josh and Amanda are a couple. It's like we never went out," Viall said on Tuesday's episode of the ABC dating competition.

Viall, 35, spent much of the episode watching Murray and Stanton kiss after wondering if Murray was interested in Stanton because he had dated her. Murray tweeted Monday that his intentions are "100 percent pure" and knocked Viall for his recent move to the Los Angeles area to focus on his acting career.

"Funny how someone who is pursuing acting is questioning my intentions and whether or not I'm acting," Murray tweeted.

Viall, meanwhile, downplayed the feud in an interview with E! News.

"I was more or less indifferent," Viall said about Murray joining "Bachelor in Paradise." "Josh and I certainly didn't have relationship. We're not friends, but I don't have any feelings about Josh one way or the other. I was more or less indifferent. I think a lot of people made a big deal about some rivalry that didn't really exist. I think you'll find when you watch the season that Josh maybe had a different feeling about it."

"Bachelor in Paradise," which follows the drama as castoffs from "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" pair up at a Mexican resort, airs 7 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.
