Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia to require COVID vaccine or negative test for concertgoers

Merriweather Post Pavilion announced Tuesday night that it will require proof of the COVID vaccine or a negative test to attend any events beginning next week.

The concert venue said in a Facebook post that either a hard copy or photo of the vaccine card will meet the requirements. And if someone opts to be unvaccinated, a negative coronavirus test from the past 72 hours will also suffice. Attendees will also be required to show a matching photo ID.

In addition to the Columbia venue, the 9:30 Club, the Anthem and Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C., will also have the same requirements. All four venues are operated by same company, I.M.P.

“We can’t wait to enjoy the return of live events with you safely!” the statement said on social media.
