The Baltimore City Department of Transportation Safety Division announced Monday it’s suspending two types of parking tickets until further notice amid coronavirus concerns.
Parking violations for cars parked in the way of street sweeping and 48-hour parking violations will stop being ticketed after Baltimore Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young issued an immediate order.
The department is also suspending its scofflaw operations for outstanding parking citations, according to a news release issued Monday.
Young said this decision is for “the protection of the general public and our employees,” the release said. The operations are suspended until further notice.
