The graphics on this page are based on daily updates from the state released around 10 every morning. Dates indicate when information was reported. The column charts in the first visualization are most useful for evaluating trends. Especially with reported delays in the processing of tests, numbers do not necessarily reflect the current level of spread of the virus. Feedback? Email coordinators@baltsun.com.

Day by day: Confirmed Maryland cases, hospitalizations, deaths and negative tests

Testing volume and positivity rate data in the above graphic are based on the dates test results were electronically reported to the state. The positivity rate is the seven-day average reported by the state. To calculate the average, the state calculates the rate for each day (positive tests reported that day ÷ total tests reported that day), then averages the rates of the most recent seven days.
