Some activities at Baltimore reservoirs to resume this weekend, mayor says

Most activities at Baltimore County reservoirs will resume this weekend — as long as residents practice social distancing, Baltimore Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young announced Friday.

Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, hiking, biking , kayaking, boating and horseback riding will be allowed at the Liberty, Loch Raven and Prettyboy reservoirs. Fishing from the bank will be allowed, though fishing from platforms will remain closed. Pedestrian activity on Loch Raven Drive will remain suspended on weekends, the city said.

“These activities will allow residents to get outside and get exercise, but we still need residents to practice social distancing while doing so,” Young said in a statement.

Baltimore’s Department of Public Works oversees the reservoirs, which are located in the county.
