Gov. Larry Hogan announced Friday that the state would soon open a mass vaccination site in Salisbury on the state’s Eastern Shore. The site, at the Wicomico Civic Center, will be the state’s fifth mass site.
It will join two sites operating in Baltimore City at M&T Bank Stadium and the Baltimore Convention Center, and one in Prince George’s County at Six Flags America. Hogan said another site is expected to open March 11 in Charles County at the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs minor league baseball stadium.
Hogan made the announcement during a visit to a Dorchester County vaccination site and Hoopers Island Oyster Co., both in Cambridge.
State health officials said more information would be released soon about the newest site.
The sites are operating with partners including the University of Maryland Medical System, Johns Hopkins Medicine and Kaiser Permanente. They operate in addition to sites run by local health departments, hospitals, pharmacies and health centers.
