Hey, it's legendary Baltimore punks Deep Sleep playing some shows—that is reason enough  to check this one out. It's their first date before a quick West Coast tour. Also be sure to check out Bidet, who released their EP "Raw Ass Cleaning Punk" last month and are one of my favorite new-ish bands. Earlier this year, I wrote this about 'Prove It,' a track off Bidet's 2015 demo: Rarely does brutal music have the effect of making you feel like you're floating when you're listening (the Minutemen did this; so did Mayhem on "Deathcrush" at least) but 'Prove It' is more freeing than oppressive. It's also ruthlessly efficient—a 50-second whoosh of hardcore guitar, scowling sentence fragments ("held back in a society that values male authority/ and expects me not to put up a fight"), and loose-jointed drumming. I am reminded of that Sylvia Plath line about 'eat[ing] men like air.'" Also on the bill, Baltimore's Nerve Endings, and Frederick queer punks CLAW. 7 p.m., the Ottobar, 2549 N. Howard St., (410) 662-0069, theottobar.com, $8. (Brandon Soderberg)
