Saturday: Kenneth Rogers Jr.: "Raped Black Male"

Saturday: Kenneth Rogers Jr.: "Raped Black Male"

July 9

It's rare that you hear about the male survivors of rape, but writer Kenneth Rodgers Jr. thinks it's time to change all that. Rodgers was raped as a child, and in his book, "Black Male Raped," he speaks about what it means to be black and male while dealing with the pain of sexual assault. Drawing from his childhood journal entries, he details how he was able to process and move forward. He'll be at Red Emma's tonight for what promises to be a thoughtful discussion. 7:30 p.m., Red Emma's, 30 W. North Ave., (443) 602-7585, redemmas.org, free. (Lisa Snowden-McCray)
