5:28 p.m. Tywaun Short, a 14-year-old African-American boy, was on the 4100 block of Audrey Avenue when someone shot him and a 28-year-old man with him. The man survived. Short, who friends and family described as a sweet, obedient prankster who loved basketball and aspired to be a rap star, was hit multiple times. He died. Short lived on the 4100 block of Mariban Court, about a quarter mile from where he was shot. On March 28 Victor Gwaltney was shot to death a block from there, on the 4100 block of 10th Street. Police have not said if the murders are related.
