With Clavel, Parts & Labor, and Sweet 27, Remington has in recent years become a trendy spot for fine dining, and there's surely more of that to come once the Remington Row development begins leasing space. But something was amiss in the rising neighborhood nestled between Charles Village and Hampden. The people very clearly needed something more. Their prayers were answered earlier this year when a sign started counting down the days to the opening of a new Popeye's. There were times when the number wouldn't change for a few days, making the whole thing seem like a tease. But the doors did eventually open this spring and the Louisiana-style chicken and biscuits soon came forth. Judging by how busy it always seems to be when we go there, a good, reasonably priced meal was just as needed as a place for $3 tacos.
