Nestled toward the end of a not-often-traveled road in Curtis Bay is one of our newest favorite places to get our Saturday day-drinking on. Baltimore City's first meadery, Charm City Meadworks, houses its tasting room alongside its 300 gallon fermenters and other equipment in a small garage in this otherwise industrial area. The tasting table itself feels pleasantly makeshift—exactly like we'd expect to see in our buddy's garage, with just a few stools but plenty of bottled and on-tap mead ready for sampling in flights or swilling by the glass. Feel the need to get active while sipping you mead? Several cornhole boards and bags are on hand for that as well. They're open on Friday evenings, too, making it a super-casual after-work destination spot to start the weekend.
